Ann-Marie Carruth Selected as Republican Ballot Replacement for Lubbock County Court at Law #3
Monday night, the Lubbock County Republican Party Executive Committee voted for Ann-Marie Carruth to fill the vacancy on the November ballot for Lubbock County Court At Law #3. Carruth takes the place of Republican nominee David Nelson, who passed away in July.
Carruth was elected on the first ballot of the LCRP Executive Committee's vote. She garnered 28 votes, John Grace earned 6 votes and the Honorable Phillip Hays earned 5 votes. Judge Hays will continue to serve as the judge for Lubbock County Court at Law #3 through the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Carruth currently serves as the Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace in Lubbock County. She will hold that office through the end of the year before transitioning to Lubbock County Court at Law #3 in 2019.
The Lubbock County Republican Party will undergo a ballot replacement for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4. Interested parties will need to e-mail a Letter of Interest by 5pm on August 13, 2018. Letters can be e-mailed to the following address: chairman@lubbockgop.org. Precinct 4 members of the Lubbock County Republican Party Executive Committee will meet on August 21, 2018 to vote upon the ballot replacement for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4.
Immediately after Monday's executive committee meeting, Lance Cansino told KFYO News that he would submit his name as an interested party for the nomination for Lubbock County, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4.
Local Democrats do not have anyone running in the November election for Lubbock County Court at Law #3 nor Lubbock County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4.
