Food Network’s Alton Brown Is Bringing Good Eats to Lubbock’s Buddy Holly Hall
It all started with a text from my wife, who is an obsessed foodie and culinary instructor. The text read as follows:
"OMG! ALTON BROWN IS COMING TO LUBBOCK!"
That's right, the original mad scientist of Food Network, Grand Poobah of Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef America and creator of the pinnacle of television food geekery, Good Eats, is bringing his new stage show to the South Plains.
"Alton Brown LIVE - Beyond The Eats" is making its way to Lubbock's new Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences on November 4th, 2021. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 5th, at the Buddy Holly Hall Box Office (1300 Mac Davis Lane) or online at buddyhollyhall.com.
Hardcore fans can also purchase a VIP Experience, which includes the best seats in the house, access to Alton's pre-show soundcheck, and an exclusive VIP Q&A session.
This new tour follows in the traditions of Brown's previous live culinary experiences, "The Edible Inevitable Tour" and "Eat Your Science." Brown has also hosted shows on Food Network such as Cutthroat Kitchen, and has been spending his time during the pandemic producing a fun YouTube Series called Quarantine Quitchen, which is shot entirely at home alongside his wife, Elizabeth. Yes, there is cooking, drinking, and even a stuffed squirrel in the beginning of this episode.
Alton Brown has always been one of my favorite television personalities, food-related or otherwise, because he just seems like the kind of guy who you could have a drink with or discuss computers and cartoons while he whips up the most amazing peach cobbler.
I'm pretty sure that you'll see me and my wife there as well that evening. She's pretty excited about this show. It's going to be fun.
