Anyone who lives in Lubbock, or just loves Texas Tech, knows that merchandise is everything. We all know that is especially true when it comes to game day merch such as jerseys, drink koozies, and even underwear (maybe) but one alumni is making merch that is a cut above the rest.

Shelby is the owner of Homestead by Hand which is a company she started after graduating from Texas Tech University. Shelby arrived at Texas Tech after some soul searching that started with her leaving her college athletic career and the untimely death of her father in 2008 which led her to Australia.

Shelby returned to the U.S. and after visiting Texas Tech and loving the school, obviously, she decided to study Sports Psychology. Shelby went on to receive her Master's degree in Sports Psychology along with receiving a Master's Degree in Journalism.

Shortly after graduating from Texas Tech Shelby went on to work for a baseball league in North Carolina for nine years before quitting to become her own boss. Shelby is now a woodworker and creates Guns Up hand sign trays and charcuterie boards, among other woodworking creations, from scratch. Her work can be seen when she shows clips of her work on her TikTok channel.

It is not the fact that she is a Texas Tech alumni but she built her grandparents a cabin, a log cabin, as one of the first things she ever built from wood. Shelby and her other family members figured out how to build the cabin and it's just that burning fire and desire to keep striving that just make me want to get some of her work. Plus, what Texas Tech fan doesn't want a Guns Up charcuterie board?
