On January 11th, 2020, there was a tragic accident in North Lubbock that took the lives of two first responders and critically injured another. Lubbock firefighter Matt Dawson was hurt when a driver lost control of their pickup truck on the interstate and hit Dawson while he was working a different wreck. Dawson suffered from a Traumatic Brain Injury, along with broken bones throughout his body.

Now, over two years later, Dawson is still on the mend, but doing much better. His wife, Chanda Dawson, started a Facebook group called DawsonStrong972 where you can keep up with his progress and road to recovery.

Almost 8,000 people follow the page to watch Dawson continue to stay strong and get better. On February 6th, that community got to witness something really sweet.

The page posted a heartwarming video of Dawson and his daughter, Preslee, dancing the night away. (Watch the video below.)

Now if this doesn't pull at your heartstrings, I don't know what will. The video of Dawson and his daughter was taken Sunday, February 6th at the 13th Annual YWCA of Lubbock Valentine's Daddy-Daughter dance that's held every year. They were dancing to a little "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars.

There's nothing more pure and sweet for this father and daughter. I'm so glad to see this and happy that y'all got to enjoy this time together. Congrats to Matt Dawson on his recovery so far so the entire Dawson family could experience this touching moment. We're still praying and thinking about y'all every day.
