Officers with the Clovis Police Department found a 17-year-old that was injured in a drive-by shooting on Sunday, January 16th.

It was a bit after 6:30 p.m. when police received the shots fired call. They responded to the 1200 block of Mora Street and found the 17-year-old lying on a couch inside of a residence with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen area.

After talking with the victim and witnesses, Clovis Police determined that the victim was in the drive-way of their home when a black SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon, drove past and opened fire. The exact reasoning behind this attack remains unclear.

The victim was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center before being flown to a hospital in Lubbock for further care.

None of the suspects have been located or even identified.
