Unbelievable Pictures of Wednesday Night’s Haboob in Lubbock [GALLERY]

One of our favorite people captured some unbelievable pictures of the Wednesday evening haboob.

Local legend and drummer extraordinaire Johnny Ray (Uncle Johnny to me) caught these pictures of a haboob rolling into Lubbock.

The pictures show the clearly defined edge of the storm coming in. That edge is how you differentiate a haboob from a dust storm (in most cases).

A couple of these pictures look like they're magazine quality. They are truly amazing. The next time you catch Johnny Ray jammin' on the drums, throw him a few bucks in the tip jar so he can continue his adventures as a professional drummer AND amateur meteorologist.
