The U.S Olympic Committee has notified all interested U.S. cities that it will not submit a bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Among the known interested cities were New York, Chicago and Dallas. However, if any of these cities were to have submitted a bid, it would have been contingent upon the USOC resolving the long standing issue of revenue sharing with the International Olympic Committee. Since the revenue sharing issue had yet to be resolved the USOC felt it would have been impossible to field a legitimate candidate.

Countries have until September 1st to submit their candidate cities.

Personally, I would have loved to see the Olympic games come to North Texas. They have all the necessary geographic diversity to field the various events.
