In NFL news, the league has fined Detroit defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh $20,000 Wednesday for his hit on Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton during the games first preseason contest. It’s the third penalty of its kind for the Lions second year player in the past year.

The reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and Nebraska Cornhusker grabbed the rokkie Bengals QB and threw Dalton to the turf after he had gotten rid of the ball late in the first quarter of Friday’s preseason game. Suh was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play.

Suh was fined twice last year for roughing up quarterbacks, including Chicago’s Jay Cutler during the regular season and Cleveland’s Jake Delhomme in a preseason game. He was fined $7,500 for what he did to Delhomme when he grabbed his face mask, twisted it and slammed him into the ground. He was docked $15,000 for shoving Cutler hard and high in the back from behind during a contest last December.

Suh can afford the latest fine as his five-year contract is worth $40 million guaranteed and as much as $68 million, but that doesn’t mean he agrees with the fine as shortly after learning of it he posted to following on his twitter account: “20,0000REALLY????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #NFL #BIGFAIL.”
