Texas Tech Baseball Announces Addition to 2011-2012 Recruiting Class
The Texas Tech baseball program has announced that Houston native Matt Eureste has
signed a financial aid agreement with the Red Raiders to join the program for the 2011-2012 season.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting shortstop was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 40th round of Major Leagues Baseball’s First-Year Players draft, after batting .420 his senior year at St. Pius X High School, while posting seven home runs and earning first team all-district and first team all-state honors.
He helped lead his team to a district title and 35-5 overall record in 2011. Eureste completed his prep career as a three-time all district and all-state selection.
Eureste also lettered three years on the gridiron and was a first team all-district selection his senior season.
