The Big 12 and Southeastern conference have announced a deal that will pit their football regular-season champions against each other in a New Year’s Day bowl game for five-years following the 2014 season.

We had known it was going to happen for awhile, but its now official, Texas A&M and Missouri are gone and are never coming back.

Texas A&M officially told the Big 12 conference today that they will apply to a new conference as soon as the end of the 2012 spring sports season. This comes just a month after Texas A&M and SEC talks began.

We've all heard the statement released from University of Florida President Bernie Machen regarding the SEC's decision to not expand, at this time. However, this does not mean A&M to the SEC is a dead issue.
