TTU has approximately 21,000 employees with over 63,000 students. They have academic locations in Lubbock, Amarillo, Brownwood, DFW, El Paso, Forney, Fredricksburg, Jefferson, Junction, Marble Falls, Waco, San Jose (Costa Rica), and Seville (Spain).
Effective September 1, MSU Texas will become the fifth institution that is a part of the Texas Tech University System. Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell said MSU Texas is a "perfect cultural fit" for the Texas Tech System.
On Thursday, the MSU Board of Regents authorized MSU President Dr. Suzanne Shipley to negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding with Texas Tech University System officials. MSU would become the second university to independently join the TTUS after Angelo State joined Texas Tech in 2007.
