Lubbock’s Susaki Sushi Steakhouse Closes Permanently, Cites COVID-19 as Cause
Susaki Sushi Steakhouse (6301 82nd Street) has announced on their Facebook page that they're permanently closing.
Monday (July 27th, 2020) is their last day in operation. Susaki specifically mentioned that their closure is due to the "insurmountable difficulties" of operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It absolutely breaks my heart every time I see a small business fail, as I respect and admire the courage and hard work it takes to go into business for yourself. It's the risk-takers that innovate and create for the rest of us to enjoy. However, there is always a chance of failure, especially when the entire world has conspired against you via a global pandemic.
Sadly, Susaki is absolutely not alone, as Lubbock has seen a great swath of restaurant closures in the last few weeks.
Best of luck to everyone at Susaki on their next endeavor. May you keep your entrepreneurial spirit alive.
