Lubbock Man Indicted for Burning Baby’s Foot With Scalding Water
A Lubbock man was indicted Tuesday (August 7) by a grand jury for injury to a child after an infant’s foot was burned with scalding hot water.
KAMC News reports 21-year-old Billy Hall was arrested on June 14, but posted bond to be released from jail.
In January, Lubbock police officers were called to University Medical Center for reports of a baby with third-degree burns that appeared to be intentional. Police then questioned Hall, who denied intentionally hurting his son. After more questioning, Hall changed his story multiple times, and police determined that Hall put the baby's foot in scalding hot water.
Police say they tested the water temperature at Hall's home, and it was 143 degrees after 37 seconds.
