Lubbock County Commissioners Support Renaming of FM 41 in Honor of David Nelson
The Lubbock County Commissioner’s Court on Monday voted unanimously to support Texas House Bill 3780, which would rename the portion of FM 41 in Lubbock County, the David Nelson Memorial Highway. Nelson was a prominent lawyer in Lubbock who was killed last year in a bicycle accident.
During his political career, Nelson was elected to the Lubbock City Council and was appointed to various state boards by two different governors.
Last year, at the time of his death, Nelson was the Republican nominee for Lubbock County Court at Law #3.
The Texas House has already approved HB 3780, and the Texas Senate is scheduled to approve HB 3780 before the end of the legislative session.
