El Paso teachers, I’m sure the following article will have you nodding your head in agreement AND disappointment because when it comes to teacher’s pay we ALL know that teachers in general are all overworked and underpaid! But a new study is raising concern when it comes to teachers in Texas!

Teachers work hard for their money

A new study by Twinkl reveals that Texas teachers are *seriously* putting in the hours, with an average workweek of 54.7 hours.

Yep, you read that right! That’s way more than the 40.2 hours the National Center for Education Statistics suggests teachers *should* be working.

According to Jude Schroeder, U.S. country manager at Twinkl, the data shows that teachers are putting in way more time than the public realizes. Schroeder says, "Teachers consistently work longer hours and earn less than what is perceived as fair."

And here’s where it gets even more shocking:

The gap between how much teachers *actually* work and how much residents *think* they work is staggering. Check out the top five states where teachers are the most overworked compared to public perception.

It’s not just a Texas thing! Residents across the U.S. tend to underestimate how much their teachers are working, with most believing teachers clock in between 39 and 43 hours a week.

In reality, those hours are much closer to 48-55, depending on the state. It’s safe to say teachers are *definitely* putting in the extra time!

So, to all the teachers of the world: The job you do is not an easy one, but know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!!
