I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Being a single mom is a super power! Maybe it’s my biased opinion because I’m a single mom, but I’ve known so many single mom’s who prove that statement to be true!

Well, Grammy-nominated rap producer, Metro Boomin, believes that statement is true too and that’s why he is making headlines for his commitment to honoring single mothers with a $20K grant!

Metro Boomin Was Raised By A Single Mom:

The Grammy-nominated rap producer, has always been a force to reckon with in the music industry. Raised by a single mother himself, Metro Boomin understands the struggles single moms face daily.

“Being raised by a single mother myself growing up, I know firsthand how hard things can get,” he shared in a recent interview with CNN.

His mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne, passed away two years ago, leaving a huge impact on Metro Boomin. Five years before her passing, he had already launched the “Single Moms Are Superheroes” initiative. However, after losing his mom, the cause took on a deeper meaning for him, leading to a heartfelt expansion.

“Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes”

In December 2023, Metro Boomin unveiled the continuation of this initiative, now named “Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes.” The program is part of a national grant initiative in conjunction with rapper Future's North American “We Trust You” tour, which will hit 21 cities.

The multi-city grant-giving initiative will offer $20,000 grants and concert tickets to nonprofit organizations supporting single mothers in each city on the tour.

"The grant-giving program will continue through the month of August and into September at each stop on the tour, which includes Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and more."

Metro Boomin is not only celebrating the strength of single mothers but also making sure that his mom's legacy lives on in a way that empowers and uplifts communities across the nation.

I’m not crying, you are. I love to see it.
