Texas Bar Dresses Up For Halloween As Famous TV Bar
Fans, (and bar flys), of The Simpsons will be able to go hang with Homer and company at Moe's Bar this Halloween in Austin, Texas.
The Simpsons have been everyone's favorite, dysfunctional family for well over 30 years now and the characters have been gathering for drinks and/or escapism at Moe's Bar the entire time. Now, you can chill at Moe's too, enjoy a signature Moe's cocktail, down a Krusty Burger and, depending on when you go, meet Simpsons writer and showrunner Bill Oakley.
Since 2018, Nickel City, (1133 E 11th Street, Austin Tx.), has transformed itself into a perfect recreation of the legendary Moe's. The decor is spot on and favorites from the show come to life in the form of "Flaming Homer's". Renamed the "Flaming Moe" after the cantankerous owner of Moe's stole the recipe from Homer.
I don't think they follow the exact Simpsons recipe though since, as die hard fans well know, the secret ingredient is cough syrup.
Seriously, here's what MIGHT be in it ... and Homer/Moe's aren't the only things on the menu:
Nickel City has partnered with other Austin-area restaurants to offer pizza served by a Chef Luigi cosplayer, omakase offerings in the fashion of Springfield’s Happy Sumo restaurant and seafood a la Captain Horatio McCallister’s Frying Dutchman. - cracked.com
Get in on the fun now through October 31st. Once Halloween is over, Moe's is closed for another year and you're stuck with plain old, (but very cool), Nickel City. I hope they serve Duff, I have always SOOO wanted to try that ... Oh Yeah!!
