Labor Day is not that far away ... here are a few fun things to do with your 3 day weekend in and around El Paso.

I've always loved Labor Day. Partly because of its somewhat hypocritical reason for being ... honoring the American worker by everybody not working.

I also have so many great memories of spending Labor Day at the KLAQ BBQ, rocking the unofficial last week of summer with bbq, bands 'n beer. One year in particular stands out thanks to, of all things, a hurricane.

I can't even get close to naming all the bands that rocked that party ... Halestorm, Blue Oyster Cult, Aranda, Smashmouth, Filter, Tommy Lee, Pat Benatar and Starset just to name a (very) few.

Halestorm played El Paso for the very first time at the KLAQ BBQ and have since become the only national act to play all of KLAQ's signature events, coming back to also play the El Paso Street Fest and the KLAQ Balloon Fest.

Enough with the past though ... let's see what's going on around the Borderland THIS Labor Day Weekend.  For starters, if you feel like taking a little drive, you could head up to New Mexico's version of "Burning Man" or cruise over to Marfa and see what they have going on.

A few more things:

There's lots more going on but that should get you thinking. Enjoy!
