The Fourth of July is fast approaching in the Central Texas area. The celebrations that occur will be many in the state, and thankfully they will be controlled. But others will be ringing in the holiday themselves, and there's tips you need to know.
How Many Firework Accidents Were There In The State Of Texas?
Data has revealed that, in the year of 2023, 8 people sadly lost their lives, with 9,700 also harmed in addition. It's also important to remember that, according to KXAN, you cannot launch fireworks "within 600 feet of places like a church, hospital, licensed child care center or school." So, fireworks should be left to the professionals.
It's important to remember also that, per FOX 44, there are penalties for not following the rules. $250 is the price you will have to pay if you're found to be illegally setting off fireworks. Plus, you run the risk of hurting yourself!

If you're going to safely set off fireworks in the Central Texas, Philip Burnett, the Waco Fire Department Captain, said the following to FOX 44:
“The best thing to do is to make sure that you have a place you can go if you want to enjoy the type of activity with your family, a place that’s outside of the city limits, and make sure that the laws are pertaining there...If it’s in the county, and make sure that we’re not under a burn ban, and things of that nature.”
