(Lafayette, Louisiana) - If you love Cajun food, you will soon have another restaurant to choose from in Lafayette Parish.

I have been following this story, and now Developing Lafayette has confirmed that Thibodeaux's Cajun Restaurant is coming to 505 Pont des Mouton Road in Lafayette. Yes, that's the location where Ground Patti was recently housed.

Our friends Barry and Brandy Burrows own this new establishment, and it sits right between Lafayette and Carencro.

For weeks, the Burrows have hinted on their social media pages that something new was coming, and now we know what to expect off Pont des Mouoton Rd.

Developing Lafayette reports:

"The menu will include seafood, steaks, oysters, étouffée, gumbo, burgers, po’boys, boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, and other Cajun staples. The restaurant will also feature a large bar, live music, bingo, and an atmosphere centered around the food, music, and culture of Acadiana."

Barry recently explained what Developing Lafayette reported in their article, and that's the heritage behind the Thibodeaux name. Brandy's family has been in the food industry for decades, and by naming their new restaurant "Thibodeaux's," they hope to honor their family's legacy.

So many people are excited for this wonderful couple, as they have been a staple in the Lafayette and Carencro communities. They own and have owned several businesses, and we know that this next journey will be a success.

I want to congratulate the Burrows on this next adventure, and I cannot wait to visit and support this restaurant. After all, who doesn't love entertainment and great Cajun food in Acadiana?

If you're wondering when this restaurant will open, Developing Lafayette reports that the tentative date is set for October 19th. We'll see you there when the "Open" sign is posted

Five Places to Visit That Make You Feel Like You’re in Old Lafayette

The city of Lafayette seems to grow each and every week, and that's a good thing, but still, there are places in the city you can visit that give you that "Old Lafayette" feel. Nostalgia is part of the Lafayette culture. We love to think back on events and places that may no longer exist, but luckily, there are still some places in Lafayette that make it feel like you're back in the 60s, 70s, or 80s. Let's look at a few places you can still visit in Lafayette that have that "Old Lafayette" feel for some odd reason.
