
Louisiana Icon Red Lerille Awarded Prestigious Fitness Honor
Red Lerillle of Lafayette, Louisiana, was awarded a prestigious honor, and we couldn't be happier for this local icon.
It was announced on Red Lerille's Health & Racquet Facebook page that Lerille was inducted into the inaugural class of the Health and Fitness Association's Hall of Fame. The Lafayette entrepreneur was one of six to be inducted.
According to the HFA website:
The HFA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry through one or more of the following achievements:
- invented, innovated, created, and grown services, products, and programs that have shaped the industry;
- expanded the industry over time and its impact around the world and/or driven key development and improvement of the association over time;
- been exceptional industry advocates whose message has resonated with non-governmental organizations and government officials on behalf of association and industry goals; or
- offered seminal industry, academic, and allied organization leaders as determined by the Hall of Fame selection committee.
Those who have been fortunate enough to meet Red Lerille know that fitness is his passion, and he has always been driven to provide the best facilities when it comes to health and fitness.
Red's has been a fixture in Lafayette for over 60 years, and as WWE Superstar John Cena once put it, Red's in Lafayette, Louisiana is the Fenway Park of all health clubs in the country (Meaning it's the best of the best).
Red Lerille was crowned Mr. America in 1960, and his passion for fitness still lives today.
