Traffic in Lafayette, Louisiana can be hectic during the holiday season, but that did not stop one young man from helping an elderly person.

Cody Guidry tagged me in a photo that he took in Lafayette and it shows a young man returning to the truck he exited from.

The story is that the young man in the white truck saw an elderly man fall while crossing the street, and he exited his truck to assist the man. According to Cody's post on social media, the elderly man fell while crossing a side street along Johnston Street.

When the young man saw the elderly man go down, he got out of his truck and helped the man up, then proceeded to push the man's cart across the street for him.

Cody says the young man returned to his truck and went on his way.

While this young man probably does not want the praise for doing what he did, we will still applaud him and highlight him here. This young man did what many of us would have done had we witnessed this, still, he should be applauded for his actions.

Being nice and supportive is easy and I hope that this story inspires you to help those who may need a lending hand this holiday season.

Job well done, sir.
