
Over 40 Dangerous Fugitives Rounded Up and Arrested In West Texas
The streets of West Texas are safer after action taken by the Texas Attorney General's Office this week.
More than 40 dangerous fugitives, including those with violent felony convictions, gang affiliations, sex offense warrants and immigration issues were taken off the streets of West Texas.

44 Fugitives Arrested in Lubbock and Abilene
According to a press release from the Texas Attorney General's Office, 44 fugitives in the Lubbock and Abilene areas were apprehended. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that his Fugitive Apprehension Unit has successfully arrested 44 people.
According to the press release, law enforcement focused on arresting those who were violating parole who also had violent felony convictions, violent criminal history, and gang affiliations. One person arrested had a warrant out for a sex offence. And 12 of those arrested were reported to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“Getting these dangerous criminals off our streets will help make our state safer,” said Attorney General Paxton. I’m proud of the dedicated law enforcement officers in our Fugitive Unit as well as the professionalism and bravery of every law enforcement agency that contributed to the success of this operation.”
What Is The Fugitive Apprehension Unit?
The Attorney General's Fugitive Apprehension Unit includes investigators, analysts, and others along with administrative assistants and command staff. They are tasked with locating and arresting violent fugitives, convicted child sex offenders, and help in locating missing and runaway kids.
