The Matadors are Lubbock's first professional sports organization in Lubbock since the Cotton Kings Hockey Team, Lubbock Crickets, and some of the Arena League Football Teams that were also in Lubbock back in the day.

Lubbock Matadors SC is a community club whose players will be positive role models in the community and ambassadors for growing the game of soccer in LBK. The team will be built with the top local players and best players from across the country who will move to Lubbock for the season. Matadors will provide an opportunity for local players to pursue their dream of playing soccer at the highest level while inspiring the next generation of players to reach their potential.

The Matadors are led by a passionate, committed ownership group that includes former Major League Soccer General Manager, soccer entrepreneurs, successful business owners, Texas Tech Alumni & local investors who all have a love for Lubbock.

The Matadors SC is an expansion franchise that's part of the National Premier Soccer League or the NPSL. The club finished the inaugural season with a 6-4-2 record in the NPSL Lone Star Conference.

Now they are opening a store for their new merch shop and offices. The sneak peek is happening on Thursday, May 16th, 20224. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and is located at 1709 A Buddy Holly Avenue. At this event you an even meet the players, and coaches and get ready for the season.

NPSL Regular Season will begin in late April or early May and run through July with the Playoffs going into early August. Exhibition Matches and Friendlies will be scheduled during the season.
Their first game is this Saturday in Lubbock against West Texas FC.
