Texas Travel Tips! Luggage-Packing Hacks from a Flight Attendant
If you’re one of those Texans gearing up to hit the skies for Turkey Day, I’ve got some pro packing hacks straight from a flight attendant that will make your trip a bit more convenient! Whether you're headed to see family or just getting out of town, here’s how to pack smarter and avoid those annoying suitcase mishaps.
1. Stop spills with balloons!
No one wants shampoo or hair gel exploding all over their favorite shirt or pair of pants, right? Here’s the trick they suggest: cut the ends off of uninflated balloons and stretch them over your toiletries. Boom—no more spills! And hey, if you’re in a pinch, condoms work for this too (not kidding)!
2. Diapers + Wine Bottles = Genius
Bringing some wine to the holiday table? Wrap a diaper around the top and bottom of the bottle before packing. It won’t guarantee it won’t break, but if it does, diapers are way more absorbent than a towel. Keeps the wine from soaking everything in your bag!
3. Stash those sandals without messing up your clothes
Most suitcases have a hidden liner—use that spot to pack your sandals or thin shoes. This keeps them from getting your clothes dirty. And fun fact: drug smugglers sometimes use that space (don’t do that), but you’re just packing your flip-flops!
You can also get some of those 2-gallon freezer bags for the same effect.
Here's a pretty handy video I found with some packing hacks for your carry-on too...
Take these hacks, pack like a pro, and have an AWESOME Thanksgiving trip!
