Grab the popcorn, drinks, some blankets, and chairs, and get ready to head outdoors to enjoy a movie for free under the stars and trees on a big screen at a Tyler city park.

I say grab the blanket because this is an outdoor experience. We all know once that first TRUE Fall cold front arrives in East Texas our nights will be cooling off quickly and you don't want to be shivering and watching a movie!

Traditionally Tyler Parks and Recreation has been showing movies for free each Spring and Fall at Bergfeld Park's amphitheater. However, this fall the Parks Department has announced that 'Movies In The Park' will be held at various parks throughout the city.

The 2024 Fall Movies In The Park series gets underway on Saturday, October 5th with a free showing of 'Hocus Pocus' and will wrap up the season with a showing of 'Elf' at the Tyler Rose Garden (Queen's Court).

Movies In The Park Fall 2024 line-up:

  • Saturday, October 8th at 7p at Bergfeld Park - 'Hocus Pocus', rated PG
  • Saturday, November 16th at 6p at Faulkner Park - 'Bad News Bears', rated PG-13
  • Saturday, December 7th at 6p at Tyler Rose Garden (Queen's Court) - 'Elf', rated PG

All you need is you and the family and those movie snacks and blankets and you'll create some great memories together that the kids will remember for a long time. All shows are free and are weather-dependent. If inclement weather is in the forecast Tyler Parks and Recreation may reschedule the location or date for an alternate showing.
