(Mix 93-1) Nearly every house and apartment in Texas has a refrigerator in the kitchen. Some houses have two or three refrigerators. A refrigerator is a requirement in Texas so that we can keep our food cold and fresh, especially here in the Lone Star State.
The Problem With Overstuffed Refrigerators
Without one, our milk, fruit, meat, yogurt, cheese, leftovers, lettuce, salad dressing, and other perishable items would spoil or otherwise go to waste.
The space in your refrigerator is limited, and it can get filled up rather quickly.
I can sit back and watch the available space in my refrigerator at home become highly congested or look like a wide-open West Texas range. It seems that space becomes tight on the weekend, thanks to all of the eating out we do as a family.

The leftover containers from the restaurant, sometimes restaurants, take up so much space. If those leftovers are not eaten by trash day, they get thrown out because we have to make room for the leftovers from our weekday evening meals that we cook.
Why Some Foods Should Avoid the Fridge
With space at a premium in the refrigerator, it does seem like we're keeping some things in there that probably don't really need to be refrigerated. If we take those items out and place them on the counter or keep them in the pantry, where it's usually darker and cooler, we will have more room in the old fridge.
