Corpus Christi Woman Shoots Man Before Police Stand Off
An intense standoff between Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) officers and a suspect ended in the early hours of Sunday, August 18, following a shooting incident on the 1500 block of 7th Street.
POLICE FIND MAN WITH GUNSHOT WOUNDS
According to the CCPD Blotter, officers responded to a call at 9:33 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, after reports of a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival, they discovered a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
The officers provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived, and the victim was then transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
HOSTAGE NEGOTIATIONS CALLED IN
The investigation quickly identified the suspect as the victim’s roommate, 39-year-old Jamie Sandidge. Sandidge had barricaded herself inside the apartment when officers arrived. Despite efforts from Patrol, the Hostage Negotiations Team, the Gang Unit, and Drone Operations, Sandidge refused to surrender.
TWO-HOUR STANDOFF WITH POLICE
After a tense two-hour standoff, the CCPD SWAT team was called in to assist. Sandidge eventually exited the apartment at around 12:27 a.m. on Sunday and was taken into custody without further incident. She was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the City Detention Center.
STANDOFF GOES LIVE ON TIKTOK
A TikTok user by the name of @king_b_346 stood outside the home of Jamie Sandidge as she hid away from police and the SWAT team. The video revealed the live stand-off, capturing officers trying to sway Jamie from her home.
