Texas is home to several college bowl games this year and some are taking place this weekend if you want to go check them out.

The twelve team playoff gets a lot of the headlines this year, but it's still bowl season. Several teams will be coming to Texas for their games and here are some games taking place you may not know about.

Armed Forces Bowl (Fort Worth, Texas)

Today(12/27/24) at noon The Armed Forces Bowl kicks off at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. Navy is taking on Oklahoma and the game is on ESPN.

Alamo Bowl (San Antonio, Texas)

Coming up tomorrow (12/28/24) the Alamo Bowl will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio. BYU is taking on Colorado with kickoff set for 7:30PM on ABC.

Sun Bowl (El Paso, Texas)

Coming up on New Year's Eve. The Sun Bowl will kickoff at 2PM on CBS. Louisville will be taking on Washington in El Paso.

Texas Bowl (Houston, Texas)

Also on New Year's Eve, the Texas Bowl will be hosting LSU versus Baylor at NRG Stadium in Houston. Kickoff will be 3:30PM on ESPN.

First Responders Bowl (Dallas, Texas)

Next Friday(January 3rd) the First Responders Bowl will happen at Gerald J. Ford Stadium which is home to SMU Mustangs normally. It's a battle for Texas as North Texas takes on Texas State at 4PM on ESPN.

Cotton Bowl (Arlington, Texas)

We will wait and see who plays in this game on January 10th. It will be between the winner of Texas and Arizona State meeting up against the winner of Ohio State and Oregon. Kickoff is set for 7:30PM on January 10th on ESPN.

Honorable Mention: Frisco Bowl (Frisco, Texas)

This one already happened back on December 17th at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Memphis defeated West Virginia 42-17.
