This weekend the Big 12 Championship is happening at AT&T Stadium and members of Texas Tech were asked what it was like playing in the stadium as a Texas kid in high school.

The last time Texas Tech and BYU met up was on November 8th. Tech dominated with a 29-7 win. This time the game is for the Big 12 Championship and is in a much bigger venue. For the ninth consecutive year, the Big 12 Championship will be held at AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys.

The last time Tech played there was in 2018 for a match up against Baylor. No current Red Raiders have played at AT&T Stadium for Tech. However, many of them as high school athletes got to compete there in the high school playoffs. Including Jacob Rodriquez when he was a Rider Raider.

Jacob Rodriquez Talks About Playing at AT&T Stadium Again

Jacob talked about the last time he played in Arlington and that would be in the 2018 State Championship game. Jacob says it is a great place to play, but he did get beat terribly the last time he was there. I was curious to see if Jacob had any highlights and here is what DFW Inside High School Sports has.

Aledo 63 - Rider 7 in 2018 Championship Game

Yeah, Jacob wants to forget this one, right before the half he threw an interception that got returned 100 yards for a touchdown. The good news is that I don't think Jacob will be doing a lot of throwing on Saturday since he now plays linebacker. Tech has been using him on a few goal line and two point conversion attempts this year on offense.

Hopefully Jacob is the one picking one off for 100 yards this time around.
