No 100° Days in the Forecasts for Deep East Texas

If you've been keeping up with the weather forecasts from the National Hurricane Center, then you know that there is a chance that we will see some tropical weather sometime over the next few days. However, the weather news that has me more excited is the dip in temperatures that it looks like we'll experience in Deep East Texas.

No 100° Days Forecast in the Foreseeable Future

We have had a bunch of triple-digit heat days over the past few weeks. I lost count on how many heat advisory days that were in that timespan. Now, I'm not seeing any high temperatures reaching 100° on any extended range forecasts.

The first set of forecasts that I looked at was from the Weather Channel, on Weather.com. They have an option to see a 10-day forecast. On Monday, September 7th and Tuesday, September 8th, they show temperatures hitting a high of 98°. That's the highest that it gets, and it actually shows temperatures go into a decline after those days.

The other forecast I checked came from the National Weather Service office out of Shreveport. They don't have a 10-day forecast, but over the next week, they don't show temperatures going over 98° either, which is forecast to happen on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th.

Now, I don't want to jinx anything, but after looking at those forecasts, it makes me ask this question: Are we through with 100° days for this year? Sure, they could sneak back in before fall officially hits, but could this be it? Only time will tell...

Until then, I'll keep an eye on the storms, and I'll still try to keep cool. I know that 98° isn't 100°+, but it's still hot...
