I'm always on the lookout for things coming and going in Deep East Texas. If I have the chance, I try to get some pictures so that I can keep up with what's going on. You can call me nosy, but the truth is that I'm just curious.

The other day as I was going down Timberland Drive in Lufkin, a building that has been vacant - or at least I thought it was vacant - showed signs of life. There were tons of cars in the parking lot, which was different. I decided to go grab a picture. This is what I saw:

Movement Seen at Old Fallas Discount Store/Thrift Store Location in Lufkin

The building that you're looking at above used to be the sight of several different stores. The largest portion of it was Fallas Discount Store for a while, and I'm pretty sure it served as the temporary AutoZone location while the store further down Timberland was being rebuilt.

If you do some looking back in time on Google Maps, you can also see that a different portion of the building was a Daily Dealz store and a thrift store before that. However, these stores have all been gone for some time...until now, apparently.

Now, I don't know about you, but those two trailers in that picture look like trailers that contractors would use. No, I did not walk up to get a picture inside the trailers. That WOULD be nosy. I did get a close-up picture of the windows of the building, though. Take a look:

The way those boxes are stacked in there makes me even more curious. It almost looks like a shipping company staging area, but I'm no expert on that either. I suppose that it could just be storage boxes of inventory for whatever store/business might be moving in next...
