It's been a rough summer at Palo Duro Canyon. We've seen the trails close because of rain. The trails have been closed, as expected, due to heat. There was an unfortunate collision that took place. However, the canyon has stood strong through it all. This weekend, if you've been wanting to get out to the canyon, you can get a day pass for free and help out our beloved Palo Duro Canyon.

Day Volunteer Opportunity At Palo Duro Canyon

According to a post on social media, this Saturday Palo Duro Canyon State Park is having a volunteer work day at the park. You'll get a free day entry, gear is provided, and you'll help with something that we all enjoy having at the park.

If you go volunteer, you'll be working on the shade structures in the Hackberry loop. If you've ever been to the canyon, you know those shade structures come in handy. There will be gear provided, you can use this as student volunteer hours if needed, and of course, you'll get free day entry to the park for volunteering.

What you'll need to bring is:

  • Clothing appropriate for the weather
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle

Volunteer At The Texas Panhandle's Treasured Canyon

We all the canyon. It's a staple of the area, and spending time at Palo Duro Canyon is something that many of us treasure. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the canyon and help out at the same time. Especially if you were planning on going anyway.

The volunteer day will be this Saturday, September 7. It will only take four hours of your time. The work will be from 8 AM until 12 PM. You'll be out there to enjoy some of the best hours at the park and still have your whole day ahead of you. For more information, follow this link.
