According to the FDA, Tony’s Chocolonely Inc. has recalled some lots of Tony’s brand Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar and Everything Bar, both in the 6.35 oz size.

How Were Stones Discovered In The Chocolate?

Twelve people reported finding small stones in their chocolate. All of the complaints were outside of the U.S. and Canada, and luckily, no injuries were reported.

Small stones could easily cause damage to teeth or dental work and could possibly lead to a choking incident. Also, it's obviously unpleasant to deal with.

How Could Rocks End Up In Chocolate?

It appears that the fault lay with the almonds both bars contain, and not the chocolate itself per se. According to the FDA, the stones were "not filtered during third-party almond harvesting and the almond processing process."

Absolutely not! It is high-quality and delicious chocolate. Many major reputable brands experience recalls, and as a reminder- this was actually an almond problem, not a chocolate problem.
