The Poll

We once again polled folks with some surprising results. I say "surprising" because we kind of expected this to be kind of "one-note" meaning that we'd get the same answers over and over again. Not only did we get a multitude of answers, some of them were really left field and left us a little worried about stuff that we weren't worried about before. I guess people, mostly when they're kids, have some over-active imaginations and if things aren't properly explained to them, they can remember the worse.

The Question

The questions was "What is your irrational fear?".  We threw in the word "irrational" because it's semi-normal to be afraid of something like heights or being in a car crash. It turns out there is no shortage of out-of-the-norm things that people spent too much time thinking about. For Instance...

My Fear

This question is based on a fear I had when I was a kid. I guess I overheard or read some news where a snake had come out of someone's toilet. I was terrified that a snake would somehow surprise me and hovered for about six months. Hovering allowed me to look back at the bowl and make sure that no snakes were creeping up on my jumblies. Looking back on this it seems even more ridiculous because I had no fear of snakes, just the ones that I thought were going to spring out of the toilet.

...And Away We Go!

I hope you can commiserate over some of these fears, and maybe even recognize one of your own in here. I would also say that if you're a parent, you might want to see if your kids act a little weird around these things. Who knows? Maybe these answers will help you lessen some childhood trauma.
