A popular outdoor clothing line has recalled over 15,000 boots sold nationwide because of a manufacturing defect that can lead to falls.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, The North Face Shellista V Mid Waterproof Boots contain a hook that can catch the lace of the other boot, causing a serious tripping hazard.
Where Were Recalled Boots Sold In Texas?
Over 15,000 boots were sold at, "The North Face stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nordstrom, REI, and other stores nationwide, and online at thenorthface.com and other websites."

Additionally, over 5000 boots were sold in Canada- in case you happened to pick up a pair while on vacation.

You can check the style number on the boot, and they are as follows:
White with style number NF0A8ADB3IE
Gray with style number NF0A8ADB5IF
Tan with style number NF0A8ADBHFQ
Black with style number NF0A8ADBKT0.
The style number is located on the inside of the "tongue" of the boot, as pictured below:
What Should I Do If My Boots Were Recalled?
First, discontinue use of your boots, as there have been 28 reports of the hooks catching laces and 15 reports of minor injuries caused by the defect.
