Camping Just West Of Texas Reveals New Mexico’s Hidden Gems
It's best to head west if you're looking for a camping adventure. New Mexico has some excellent option available to you.
A lot of Lubbock campers opt to head to Lake Alan Henry for adventures. At about an hour and ten minutes a way, it certainly is a solid option.
What if you want to just "get out of Texas" for a moment, and maybe experience something new? There are a number of camping places just across our western border.

You can really increase your option if you head over to New Mexico. A search for campgrounds in New Mexico reveals Oasis State Park at less than two hours away. I think a place called "Oasis" must be pretty good.
Bottomless Lakes State Park comes in at just about a 2.5 hour trip. Please note: Bottomless refers to the lakes and not your attire.
Coming in at a little over three hours away is Ute Lake. This is one of the longest lakes in the State Of New Mexico, so there should be plenty of room to stretch out.
Sumner Lake State Park is about three hours away. The bonus to this one is that you're near the final resting place of Billy The Kid.
If you can travel a full 3.5 hours, there's Brantley Lake. It's the southernmost lake in New Mexico, and about 15 miles away from Carlsbad.
Also at 3.5 hours there's Conchas Lake State Park. The pitch for this seems to be "secluded coves and canyons". It sounds like a really fun adventure.
All of this is to just give you a quick overview of what awaits you in the Land Of Enchantment. I'm positive some hotspots were overlooked, so you may want to search from your location here. Happy camping!
