Why is it so hard for employers and employees to find each other?

There are plenty of websites and services for this exact purpose. However, the "noise" can gum up the process- from fake/ scammy employment ads to algorithms screening out good candidates who aren't using the right keywords.

Luckily there's a new solution in Lubbock. Hire The LBK on Facebook.

Hire the LBK is a blissfully no- B.S. solution for folks seeking employment, and those seeking employees. It's only been up since August 4th and already has 3000+ members.

The rules are simple: no bashing employers or employees, no "pay to play" employment, and realtors cannot advertise to recruit agents. It's all to keep it fair and to screen potential scams.

The group is the passion project of Tracy Cole, a professional who, among many other areas of specialty, offers services helping folks get their resumes perfected.

After years of getting people hired, she's taken a keen interest, "in helping people be employable - resumes, interview coaching, etc."

I asked Tracy about seeing the need for the group and why she decided to jump in on yet another project:

When I saw that a Facebook group was going to charge people to post about their jobs available or looking for employment, I felt it was wrong especially right now.

I had already gone down on the price of my resume writing services, and when I saw that I just decided to create a group that was different.

One that, as a neutral party, I could say what employees want employers to know and what employees wanted employers to know.

The group has also been used to share employment resources like job fairs and free job training services. And I've seen several joyful posts from both the newly hired and very happy business owners with new employees.

So if you're frustrated with your job hunt in Lubbock, or are looking for just the right team member, give Hire the LBK a shot- unlike most everything else it's free, and more importantly, it's fair.
