Hollywood South? Celebrities Rally to Make Texas the New Entertainment Capital
Some of the biggest movie and television stars are pushing for Texas to become the new Hollywood. If it were up to Dennis Quaid, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, the Lone Star State would be the film epicenter of the US.
Doesn't sound like such a bad idea to me.
Take a look at what Dennis Quaid had to say about it in an interview with FOX News:
The Texas Senate announced an allotted $498 million from their budget to revamp the Texas Film Inventive, making it prime time to get the ball rolling on Texans in the movies.
Making Texas a hub for movies and television will add thousands of jobs to boost local economies, too. They aren't just talking about filming in big cities. Rural communities could benefit from all of the lights, cameras, and action they have in mind for our state.
Texas has been losing out to other states that offer better incentives for industry people. I know Texans don't like to lose cash. It's just not in our nature. Maybe when people start seeing dollar signs, it'll make more sense...(cents)...
Dumb joke. Sorry.
What do you think about it? Can you picture all of the celebrities moving to Texas? Would you let your kids star as extras in a movie? There are so many possibilities!
