It's getting colder out and I'm hoping we have at least a couple of snow flurries in Lubbock this year. I just moved to a cool apartment downtown and I'm really excited to see the snowfall and look out on all of the Christmas lights. Texas Tech is also incredibly beautiful in the winter and makes for an excellent place to take a walk after your holiday meal to burn off a little of Grandma's pecan pie.

I highly recommend taking your family and friends on a stroll through campus after our first snowfall. It's really beautiful. Last year, an amateur photographer sent us some great photos of Texas Tech University covered in snow. I thought you might like to take a peek at them to help you get into the holiday spirit!

I'm just hoping we have more snow and less ice this year. We all know how terrible Lubbock drivers are. It gets pretty wild out there. Fingers crossed this winter isn't as bad as it's been predicted...

The Farmers' Almanac predicts that we won't have much precipitation in December, but January could be a bit rough. Make sure you're ready for the winter months and that your heater is in working order. It also never hurts to throw some extra blankets and supplies in the trunk of your car.

What's your favorite season on campus? Do you have any spiffy photos you'd like to share with the world? I'd love to see them! You can feel free to email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com for a chance to have them featured in an article.
