West High School Senior Laney Aiken is our Scholar of the Week
It's Monday and that means we get to brag on some of the best teens in Texas!
Just like West High School senior, Laney Aiken, our Scholar of the Week. This young lady is an absolute rock star!
Laney, we are so proud to feature you as you have shown incredible commitment to do your very best in all that you do! And this young lady does a lot!
Laney is the Victoria West Student Council Vice President and as a Victoria West National Honor Society she finds a way to balance her academics with her passion... animals!
Laney was accepted and has committed to Texas A&M for Veterinary Medicine and also made the Archery Team at Texas A&M.
Laney also knows how to have fun with friends as a member of the Victoria West Theatre Department.
But wait, there is so much more!
She is the Victoria County 4-H Council Secretary, the Victoria County 4-H Ambassador, and the Inez 4-H President!
Laney also finds time to be the District 11 4-H Health & Safety Officer, as well as the South Texas Junior Rancher's Association President and check this out... Laney is also the Victoria West FFA Chapter Secretary!
There is a spiritual side to Laney as well. She is a part of the Our Lady of Victory Youth Ministry and participates as a member of the Warriors for Christ, and she is a member of American Legion Auxiliary as well.
As a chosen Scholar or Athlete of the week, Laney is now eligible to win one of two $1250.00 scholarships presented by Victory Auto Group who is having just as much fun interviewing these incredible young adults as we are having writing about them!
