If you are looking to help support animals and meet them, this is the event for you.

Have y'all heard of the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center here in Lubbock? Well, they are an awesome nonprofit to help animals for 34 years running. They care for orphaned, injured, ill and displaced wild animals with the goal of returning wildlife back to its natural habitat.

Every year they host a fall open house that raises money for the center, gets people to see what they do and you get to meet their sweet animals.

SPWRC is the equivalent of a hospital for wildlife, and therefore most of the time their facilities are not open to the public except for this one day. While you are there you can talk to and meet their ambassadors and there will also be crafts for the children. If you would like to attend all they ask is at least a $2 donation per person.

The event will be held at their location on October 17th, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and they can't wait to meet you guys and show off what they do.

Fundraisers like this are so important to them because their only form of payment is through donations. They are licensed by the state of Texas as well as the federal government, but they don't receive funding from either regulatory agency. If you would like to donate you can do that here.

They are currently even selling t-shirts to raise money. If you donate $15 to the link above you get a t-shirt.

They are located at 3308 95th St, Lubbock, TX or you can call them at (806) 799-2142. Their website also has more details.
