It's all but assured we'll have a 1 vs. 2 college football matchup on Nov. 5 in Tuscaloosa. After protecting unbeaten records with wins on Saturday, LSU remains No. 1 in the weekly AP poll and Alabama still sits second. Both the Tigers and Crimson Tide have a bye week to prepare for their showdown.

Jon Miller, an executive with NBC Sports, called into Jack Dale's Sportsline this morning to talk about some of NBC's new sports programming.  Miller, who lives in New York, has roots in Washington, D.C.  As a child Miller was a Washington Senators fan which is now the Texas Rangers franchise.

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor returned to practice for the first time since serving a five-game suspension. Pryor practiced with his teammates on Wednesday, two days after his suspension was officially lifted.

The Detroit Tigers were able to avoid a three-games-to-none deficit in the American League Championship Series Tuesday night. Doug Fister pitched into the eighth inning as he and the Tigers tied a team postseason record by belting three homers in a 5-2 triumph over the Texas Rangers.

This has been a strange year for Tiger Woods, and it took another bizarre twist when a fan was arrested for running toward the seventh green at CordeValle and tossing a hot dog in Woods' direction. The bun barely reached the green. The hot dog landed on the putting surface.
