Vince Taylor Joins Texas Tech Basketball Staff

Texas Tech Men’s Basketball coach Tubby Smith continues to add to his staff.

Smith added former Minnesota assistant Vince Taylor. Taylor spent six seasons with Tubby Smith at Minnesota and helped recruit 10 players to the Golden Gopher program rated in the 150 of the nation.

“Vince Taylor was with my staff for six years at Minnesota,” said Smith.

“He was big part of our success in recruiting and getting to the NCAA Tournament. He will do the same at Texas Tech.

Vince has an outstanding reputation around the country. His experience as a player at Duke and as a professional player for a number of years overseas has enhanced in his ability to teach the game."

Taylor spent two seasons as head of player development for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA.
