The United States Women’s Soccer team picked up a big first win today by beating the youthful team from North

Korea 2-0. U.S. players Lauren Cheney and Rachel Buehler both scored in the second half to give the American the opening round victory. The U.S. team will travel to its next venue Wednesday afternoon where they will face Colombia, a 1-0 loser to Sweden, on July 2 at the Rhein-Neckar Arena with the ESPN pre-game show beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET.

USA’s starting line-up consisted of: 1-Hope Solo; 11-Ali Krieger, 19-Rachel Buehler, 3-Christie Rampone (capt.), 6-Amy LePeilbet; 9-Heather O’Reilly, 7-Shannon Boxx, 10-Carli Lloyd, 12-Lauren Cheney; 8-Amy Rodriguez, 20-Abby Wambach, and the subs were: 2-Heather Mitts, 4-Becky Sauerbrunn, 5-Kelley O’Hara, 13-Alex Morgan, 14-Stephanie Cox, 15-Megan Rapinoe, 16-Lori Lindsey, 17-Tobin Heath 18-Nicole Barnhart, 21-Jill Loyden.
