Two Lubbock ISD Campuses Evacuated Due to Bomb Threats

Lubbock ISD officials have announced that an 'all-clear' was given to both Whiteside and Ramirez elementary schools.
After this morning’s bomb threat, campuses were evacuated in accordance with the district standard response protocol. The Lubbock ISD Police Department, along with assistance from the Lubbock Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, thoroughly swept both campuses and determined the threat to be a hoax. Both campuses have been cleared by law enforcement and students and staff are returning to continue the school day. The safety of our students and staff continues to be our highest priority and the support of our parents and community is appreciated.

Original story: Students and staff from two Lubbock ISD elementary school campuses were evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat.
The evacuations took place at Whiteside Elementary School (7508 Albany Avenue) and Ramirez Elementary School (702 Avenue T).
Lubbock ISD released a statement concerning the evacuations:
At 9:27 a.m. this morning, a bomb threat was called in to the front office at Whiteside Elementary School from an out-of-state phone number. The call was followed by another threat to the office at Ramirez Elementary School. The campuses have been evacuated in accordance with the district standard response protocol. The Lubbock ISD Police Department, along with assistance from the Lubbock Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, are currently sweeping the buildings. Ramirez has been cleared by law enforcement and they are working on Whiteside now. All students and staff are safe and accounted for. Safety is Lubbock ISD’s highest priority and all emergency protocols are being followed to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
