Jaye Crockett and Ty Nurse were bright spots for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in their game against the Iowa State Cyclones. Crockett had 17 points and seven rebounds. Nurse chipped in 15 points and four assists. Crockett and Nurse's efforts were not enough however as the Red Raiders still fell to the Cyclones 72-54.

The Red Raiders were outsized, which has become a regular theme this season. In looking at the box score however, one of the things that stood out the most was the fact that the Red Raiders shot only 9 free throws. That number is in stark contrast to Iowa State's 26 free throws. The Red Raiders problem is their lack of size in the paint, and drive to the basket.

Aside from the free throw anomaly, the game was actually rather close. The Red Raiders actually had a halftime lead of 32-28, but simply could not compete with the Cyclones depth and size over the course of the game.

The Red Raider are 8-19 on the season and 1-14 in Big 12 play. Check out the entire box score here.
