The Texas Rangers remain just one game back in the hunt for the final American League wildcard spot behind the Cleveland Indians.  Texas did so after they dispatched of division rival the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 6-5 on Thursday night.  Jurickson Profar would end up being the player of the game and he only had one at bat.

Now the Rangers sent starter Matt Garza to the mound as he would get roughed up for eleven hits over five innings of work, but would give up just one run.  He would not receive the win however as that would go to closer Joe Nathan.  Nathan can thank pinch hitter Jurickson Profar (Pictured on the right) for the win as he lead of the bottom of the ninth inning with a solo homerun off of the Angel's reliever Michael Kohn to give the Rangers the 6-5 victory.

With the win Texas has just these last three games against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to gain entrance into the playoffs.  The final day of the regular season is September 29th.  Texas will send Alexi Ogando to the mound opposite former Ranger C.J. Wilson.  First pitch for tomorrow's game is set for 7:05 pm from the Ballpark in Arlington.
