The San Antonio Spurs Take Home Court Advantage as They Win Game 1 of the NBA Finals 92-88

The San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat kicked off the NBA Finals on Thursday night from the American Airlines Center in Miami.  Greg Popovich and company knew how important winning one of the first two games in Miami was and they played like it.

The Spurs came out a little sluggish which could be in part due to the 9 days off they had leading up to the finals.  They would find themselves down as much as 10 in the game but when the fourth quarter came, they were ready.  San Antonio outscored Miami by a score of 23-16 in the fourth which effectively doomed the Heat.  LeBron James (Pictured on the Right) led the way once again for the Miami as he recorded his tenth career playoff triple double with 18 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists.  It was not enough however as once again "Big 3" member Chris Bosh had a less than stellar performance as he had 13 points and just 5 rebounds.

Tony Parker and Tim Duncan led the way for San Antonio as they were able to defeat the Heat 92-88.  Parker had 21 points and 6 assists while Duncan added 20 points and 14 rebounds.  The Spurs defense was also key in the fourth quarter as they held LeBron James and Dwayne Wade to 5 points on 2-6 shooting to close out the game.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals is set for 7:00 pm on ABC from the American Airlines Center.
