Texas Tech Lady Raiders Beat Tulane in Second Round of WNIT
The Texas Tech Lady Raiders used 21 points from Jordan Barncastle (pictured) to beat the Tulane Green Wave 69-55 in the Second Round of the Women's NIT at the United Spirit Arena.
Barncastle's 21 points were a season high as three Lady Raiders scored in double figures.
The Lady Raiders had a 35-28 lead at halftime and were outshooting Tulane from the field, 46.2% for Tech, 30% for Tulane.
Tulane's leading offensive player was freshman forward Adesuwa Ebomwonyi. She scored a career-high 19 points, with 7 rebounds.
Texas Tech Head Coach Kristy Curry liked her team's measured play, "I liked our poise. I thought at times in both games we had a chance to go one way or the other and I thought the kids really stuck together and communicated well. The poise that we are showing at times is really an improvement. We have been really pleased with us making a stop, making a play, making a good decision on both ends of the floor."
The Lady Raiders will host a Third Round WNIT match-up against either Pacific or San Diego on March 22 at the United Spirit Arena. Game time will be at 7pm.
